Stars, Beavers, and Crowns – Oh My!
Grade 3, 4 | 90 min.

Explore the early history of The Royal Canadian Regiment through the symbols that represent it.

  • Tuesday – Friday 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Evening hours are available for community groups on Thursdays 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Maximum 30 students (1 classroom).
  • Youths must be supervised at all times.

Morse Code and Military Communications
Grade 4, 6 | 120 min.

Communication is essential for military units operating in the field, together we will examine different methods used to send clear messages over distances. Students will explore basic circuits to send their own messages using Morse code.

First World War Symbols of Remembrance
Grades 5 - 10 | 120 min.

Visit the museum to learn about how we remember on Remembrance Day.  Explore the origins of Remembrance Day and symbols of Remembrance such as the Poppy, the monuments, the ceremonial, and the meaning of the word Veteran.

Independent Visit with Scavenger Hunt
Grade 5+ | 60-90 min

In this visit groups will arrive at a set time to receive an introductory briefing about the museum and be provided with a gallery-based scavenger hunt. The group will independently explore the spaces completing the scavenger hunt.

Korea to Afghanistan: Working with the UN and NATO 1945-2014
Grade 6, 10, 12 | 120 min

Through the experiences of The Royal Canadian Regiment learn about Canada’s involvement in the global community through NATO and the United Nations from the Korean War to the War in Afghanistan.  

  • Tuesday – Friday 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Evening hours are available for community groups on Thursdays 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Maximum 30 students (1 classroom). Youths must be supervised at all times.

Canada and the World Wars
Grade 10 | 120 min

This visit will give students an overview of The RCR’s and Canada’s involvement in the First and Second World Wars.

Museums and Curatorship (SHSM)
Grade 9-12 | 210 min

Students will be given the opportunity to learn about what museums are, artifact labeling, and have an opportunity to consider how artifacts are used for telling a story in an exhibit.  This program can either be ran entirely onsite or as a blend of virtual and onsite. The Museums and Curatorship program was created to fulfill an elective of the Arts and Culture sector of the Specialist High Skills Major.

You may choose the length of your visit, gallery focuses and activity to build your own program. Contact the museum for options and to organize this tour.
